1. How many electric vehicles are actually on the road today?

Currently, there are over 100,000 EVs on the road today in Canada. By the year 2025 there will be over 350 EV models to choose from, including vehicles from all of the World’s largest vehicle manufacturers

2. Are electric vehicle charging stations safe to use all year round?

YES. Electric vehicle chargers are CSA/ UL/ cUL certified and are completely safe to use. In fact, the EV regulates the flow of energy to the vehicle using SAE J1772 protocol (North American standard). The EV charger is no different than any other electrical appliance.

3. How long does it take to charge an electric vehicle?

It depends on the type of vehicle, size of battery, and type/size of the charging station. For example, a Level 1 charging station (110-120v) can take days to charge an EV from empty whereas a Level 2 charger (220-240v) can take as little as 4-6 hours. Level 3 (480-600v) can take as little as 30-45 minutes

4. How long do EV chargers last?

Our charging stations can be warranted for up to 10 years and some of the earliest deployed EVSE has been installed for 8-10 years and continue to operate.

5. Do they work in cold climates/ extreme weather?

YES. Our charging stations are NEMA 3R and NEMA 4 certified for extreme weather. NEMA 4 operates at -40 to +50C

7. What kind of service do I need to install charging stations?

Level 2 EV charging stations require a 220-240v service entrance and a dedicated circuit that ranges from 40-80 amps. Any electrician can install the charging stations and Green Dot has a preferred vendor list to help with that.

8. Do the Green Dot chargers require maintenance?

VERY LITTLE. Green Dot chargers carry the best warrantee on the market. No maintenance is needed; however, we recommend regular inspection of the equipment and proper use and stow of the EV charging cable.

9. Do I need Ethernet connection? Can I use Wi-Fi, or cellular?

10. What is the Return on Investment? How much money can I earn monthly?

There is no fast answer. It depends on the location, utilization and market demand. That said, we see ROIs as fast as 3 months in high traffic locations. 11. Do you offer an extended warrantee? What does it include?

Two (2) year standard warrantee and an optional extended warrantee for up to 10 years.
